Sarajevo Rose

A 'Sarajevo rose', the impact mark in the pavement left by an exploding mortar or artillery shell from the 48 month Bosnian Serb siege of Sarajevo. The city is littered with these 'roses', the 'petals' filled in with plastic resin. Photo made on April 6, 2012, the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the siege.
